The EPA has begun analysing a draft health risk report into the Williamtown contamination.
The study, prepared by the Department of Defence, looked at possible pathways for human exposure to PFAS chemicals.
The EPA says it will use the information to review precautionary restrictions, and the extent of the investigation area, which has been in place since last September.
