MAN DIES IN CLAGIRABA CRASH

A young man has died from horrific injuries and a fire officer been treated for distress, after a crash at Clagiraba overnight.
Police say the 24 year old lost control of his Ford Ute on Beaudesert-Nerang Road at around 8 thirty, crossing to the wrong side of the road.
“It’s made intial impact with a number of trees at which time those trees have been sheared off at stump height the vehicle has continued some 100 metres down an embankment along the creek line. Forensic crash unit are investigating but it does appear that speed is a contributing factor.”
It’s believed the driver was thrown from his vehicle, as the Ute burst into flames.
The notorious blackspot was closed for more than 7 hours.
