A deepening trough along the east coast has the potential to spin into an East Coast Low.
This event may cause widespread coastal flooding from southeast QLD to the Mid North Coast and Newcastle communities.
At this point, the Northern Rivers is most likely to be hit hardest and preparations should begin.
The event is expected to peak at the end of the week and across the weekend.
Localised flash flooding and widespread river flooding will be possible.
