The $1.2-million redevelopment of Inverell’s Cameron Park has been officially opened.
What was once known by locals as “the desert”, has been transformed into a facility capable of hosting larger sporting events, including football and rugby league.
“Inverell has a vision for attracting a lot more country, state and national level sports competitions to Inverell and to do that you have to have top class facilities and a lot of them.”
The works also involved installing underground irrigation systems, new play equipment and off-street parking.
