CAR FOUND UNDERWATER AT DAVISTOWN

Marine Rescue Central Coast had an unusual salvaging job on its hands on Sunday after a car was found underwater at Davistown.

The Jeep had floated 150 metres from Eulalia Wharf and sunk.

Crews on board the unit’s new Rescue Water Craft attached a marker buoy to the vehicle and it’s expected a retrieval operation will begin later this week.

Marine Rescue Commander Roger Palmer says it’s likely the driver was sightseeing and forgot to put the handbrake on.
