The battle for the seat of New England is certainly heating up with Armidale solicitor Philip Cox putting his hat in the ring as an independent.
Originally from Western Australia, Mr Cox began his legal career in the north west in 2012.
He cites the expansion of coal mining in the Liverpool Plains as his main concern – and reason for entering the political arena.
