80 MILLION IN BACKLOG FOR CENTRAL COAST ROADS

Central Coast Roads are in desperate need of some TLC.

NRMA’s annual Funding Local Roads report has found Wyong and Gosford council’s have a combined backlog of $80-million in road funding.

In 2014/15, Gosford Shire Council reported a backlog of almost $52.8-million, while Wyong Council recorded a backlog of more than $27.4-million.

The NRMA is calling for the major political parties to guarantee at least half of all revenue raised through the fuel excise, be committed to roads and fast-track funding to help Central Coast councils meet the backlog.
