NOVO SWIMMERS JOIN CAMPAIGN FOR WARNERS BAY ROUNDABOUT REDEVELOPMENT

Two days after fare-welling their team mate and friend Jade Frith, the Novocastrian Swimming Club spent today at Newcastle’s Charlestown Square, gathering signatures on a petition to redevelop the round-about where she was fatally struck by a car.
“Just when we were there the other day we saw people doing the exact same thing as Jade. I think it’s unfair, we don’t want to see any more injuries like that.”
Close to 6,000 people have now signed the petition.
When it reaches 10,000, it will be debated in parliament.
To sign the petition, or for further details, visit the Novocastrian Swimming Club website or Facebook page. Petitions can also be found at local Lake Macquarie and Warners Bay businesses.

My son was hit by a car at booragul in west Lake Macquarie and is now a quadriplegic with brain injury. We went to our local MP Greg piper to have something done. He went to Lake Macquarie council and the council said it’s not there problem and to go to the RTA, they said it’s the councils issue. Bottom line nothing was done. I was very annoyed as it seems that my sons accident wasn’t important to anyone.
Hi Melissa, thanks for getting in contact our newsroom will be in touch.
