There was no joy for the local crews as Bulli swept to victory in the men’s open at one of surf boat racing’s biggest events of the year.
The south coast side was never headed in the Australian Surf Rowers League final.
The women’s was much closer, the Tugun Hunters narrowly crushed the dreams of the crew from the tiny Victorian town of Jan Juc.
Avoca Beach managed a second in the under 19 men, with Redhead in fourth.
