TWEED HEADS PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER HELD UP WITH REPLICA HANDGUN

A 17-year-old pizza delivery driver has been threatened with a replica handgun in Tweed Heads overnight.

According to reports, the driver was delivering an order to Kennedy Drive about 7.45pm on Satuday night.

As the driver opened his door, another man approached the car and allegedly held a gun to the teenagers head.

The driver sped away before notifying police.

Police began patrols of the area, and shortly after arrested a 34-year-old man at a nearby service station. A search revealed the man was allegedly in possession of a knife and three replica firearms.

He was charged with unauthorised possession of a prohibited firearm, custody of a knife in public, and assault.
