  1. Any one working in Australia is entitled to work in a safe work place. While management are responsible to ensure a safe working environment extends right the way down to a delivery driver with no option except parking illegally while unloading, because government wont mandate the provision in every development of safe loading bays on every new development property. Like we witnessed today workers and surviving family at this memorial service. All workers must step up and insist on a safe workplace. Other wise governments wont legislate what we want ! Unions are right to suspect the standardising of workplace safety legislation nationally will result in a watering down rather than building up workers rights and the rights of those who come vicariously into any workplace.

  2. I agree Edward, Big companies are more concerned about their statisitics rather than their employees, They seem to worry more about the ten major incidents that affect their figures than the 1 which ruins a family eg: fatality or permanent disability.

My father had a workplace injury, 17 years after the incident he committed suicide because the depression of his accident & the burden he was causing his family.

They should spend more money helping people rather than hindering.
