In Waratah basketball, and the Newcastle men produced a stirring fourth quarter revival to beat the Central Coast last night.
The Hunters women made it back-to-back wins to start the season, overcoming the North Sydney Bears.
Newcastle was boosted by the inclusion of Opals representative Katie-Rae Ebzery, who had 19 points, and American import, Shannon Novosel, who scored 12.
Ebzery’s younger sister Alison was also heavily involved, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sophie Kleeman rounded out the 23-point win with 12 of her own.
