The Manning Valley is mourning the loss of one of its most respected residents, Patricia Davis-Hurst.
The Worimi elder passed away at the weekend, after recently suffering a stroke.
Aunty Pat was well-known as the author of ‘Sunrise Station’ and for her work as an Aboriginal health advocate.
She was also a recipient of the Member of the Order of Australia for her contributions to the community.
A funeral will be held next Tuesday at 11 o’clock at Taree’s St John’s Anglican Church.
