Former Independent MP Tony Windsor is back on home soil today following the announcement he’ll contest the seat of New England again at the next election.
Mr Windsor says he’ll hit the campaign trail straight away and admits it’ll be a long, and competitive, road ahead.
“Democracy is about choice and one of the things that happens particularly when independents are running is you get political competition, so you watch over the next few weeks the things that start to happen, from the current government.”
He says the Shenhua Watermark mine, National Broadband Network and climate change are at the top of his priority list.
