Beach-goers are being warned to keep an eye out for blue ringed octopus, following a number of sightings in Port Macquarie.
The highly-venomous sea creature has been spotted twice at Town Beach in recent weeks, and once at Flynns Beach.
The octopus is often camouflaged, and its bite can be deadly.
Council’s Head Lifeguard James Turnham says people should take extra care when walking around rockpools.
