Lake Macquarie Council has paved the way for buildings up to eight storeys high, to be constructed in parts of Warners Bay.
The council last night approved new planning guidelines, raising the height restrictions for potential development on the existing retail area’s carpark.
The masterplan also includes a public plaza on the southern end.
Council says any parking removed by future developments, would be made up for by utilising surrounding land.
