Councils and community groups in the North West are being encouraged to make a bid for the second round of the federal government’s Safer Streets programme.
More than $29-million is available for crime prevention and community safety initiatives.
Round one of the program saw $19-million go towards CCTV projects and better lighting.
Tamworth’s mobile CCTV units are thought to have drastically reduced anti-social behaviour in the area.
Applications close February 17 next year.
