November has proven to be the busiest month on record for Tamworth’s Ronald McDonald House.
31 families called the house their home away from home for the month.
The service provides accommodation for families of seriously ill children.
“We’ve definitely noticed an increase in patients coming through the house here since the hospital has upgraded and the new hospital has opened so there is definitely an increase in more patients coming to the region for that.
The house relies entirely on community donations, at a cost of more than $300,000 a year.
With bookings already started for 20-16, donations are welcome.
“Just normal toiletries, food, two-minute noodles and things like toilet paper and paper and paper towels, stuff that you’d normally use in a normal household, we basically run a household for five families.”
