A special procession at Newcastle’s Sacred Heart Cathedral has launched celebrations for the Catholic diocese’s 150th anniversary, which takes place next year.
The march also marked the faith’s Year of Mercy, with more than 300 churchgoers raising their voices in song.
Bishop Bill Wright led a liturgy for parishioners – there’ll be more activities to celebrate the anniversary of course, in 2016.
