More than 500 pooches and their owners were on parade at Morpeth Common this morning for the RSPCA’s 20th annual walk against animal cruelty.
The four kilometre walk aims to promote responsible pet ownership.
“We’ve got our vets here talking about vaccinations and de-sexing and that kind of thing.”
Welfare group “Justice 4 Max” protested against the event.
They believe the RSPCA’s euthanasia rates are too high.
