  1. Solar and Wind are the only options; gas is a short term fix, it is not a solution. It will create more problems down the track, with degradation of land, reduced options for food growing, more transport on the roads needed, leading to greater degradation of roads and more costly upkeep on roads. Solar and Wind are local and can meet the needs of local communities. If there is not ‘enough’ for the people, then they need to reduce their energy consumption [i.e. get rid of plasma TV’s, sandwich makers, air conditioners etc.] We use 4kw/day; most people use 20kw/day. We are not disadvantaged because we live on on a stand-alone solar house.
