Port Macquarie’s Cameron Pensini will have to wait until next year to defend his 2012 Summer Triathlon title, after organisers cancelled the event due to today’s torrential rain.
In what would have been its 10th year, the event was to be held at Crowdy Head for the first time, after safety concerns forced the move from Taree.
A strong field of competitors had signed up for the race, which is made up of a 500 metre swim, 20 kilometre cycle and five kilometre run.
