BIG DAY OUT STAYS ON GOLD COAST

The race to find a new location for the Big Day Out on the Gold Coast for the next five years has begun, after organisers secured an 11th hour reprieve from the state government.
After threatening to leave, the music festival will now stay here until 20-18, with the LNP helping with relocation costs from Parklands.
“As we recognise that we have disrupted their current site.”
It’s believed Metricon Stadium, Skilled Park, and land near Westfield Helensvale are being considered.
“The amount of options available to us to put on an event with 50, 55,000 people are quite limited.”
Public transport, and open space, are the main requirements.
