Armidale council has taken the city’s saleyards off the market amidst uncertainty fuelled by local government reforms.
In a recent assessment conducted by the state’s independent regulator, it was revealed a merger could be on the horizon for a number of New England councils.
A motion was passed at last night’s meeting to suspend the sale of the livestock facility, until the reforms are finalised.
The saleyards will continue to be leased to Armidale Livestock Selling Agents on a month-to-month basis.
