A charitable organisation which helps mothers and babies to bond has celebrated the joy of reading, with Newcastle City Library’s “10 minutes a day” programme visiting Mums’ Cottage at Holmesville.
“The bonds mothers make with their children and reading is one of the strongest ones, to bond with their child through a book, through a story, there’s that closeness,” says Mum’s Cottage Founder, Sister Helen Anne.
There was also craft, with TAFE students offering a helping hand.
