As part of the state government’s $60 million domestic violence package, announced yesterday, the Tamworth police will pilot a disclosure scheme.
It’ll allow concerned residents to find out if their partner has a history of family violence, by checking a register at the station.
Inverell will also benefit, following its inclusion in the ‘Staying Home Leaving Violence’ program…..
Which involves police removing perpetrators from family homes, so women and children can be safe.
