North Coast businesses have been invited to tender for the next stage of work to stabilise soil on the Woolgoolga to Ballina section of the Pacific Highway upgrade.
The Federal Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker says there are several floodplains in the area, where work is required to extract water from the soil to allow a strong foundation for the new highway.
He says the first section that needs attention is the 13 kilometres between Tyndale and Maclean.
Tenders close on November 18.
