Work has begun on Broadmeadow racecourse, in the hope the track will be ready to race on by next year’s spring carnival.
Mother Nature will ultimately decide whether the course proper is ready in time for the jockey club’s flagship meetings.
The NJC’s remaining meetings for the 2015 spring carnival have been transferred to alternative tracks.
