Charismatic Gosford Mayor Lawrie McKinna, has been re-elected for a fourth consecutive year.
The former Mariners coach earned 6 votes ahead of Liberal councillor Chris Burke with 4, to reclaim the top job.
Councillor Craig Doyle was elected Deputy Mayor for the ninth time since 2002.
His name was drawn from the ballot following a tied vote with councillor Jeff Strickson.
