Byron Mayor Simon Richardson says work on council’s controversial rock wall at Belongil should not proceed while the matter is before the court.
Last week, a concerned residents group told the Land and Environment Court construction should cease immediately, as the wall’s environmental impacts have not been assessed.
While the group’s attempt was unsuccessful, Mayor Richardson says he will recommend council suspend work at tomorrow’s council meeting.
