WORKERS VOTE TO PROTEST JOB CUTS

Essential Energy employees have stepped up their fight against proposed job cuts voting to take industrial action, which could occur next month.
The Australian Electoral Commission conducted the ballot, with nearly 95 per cent of Essential workers supporting strikes lasting up to 72 hours.
It comes after the electricity provider proposed new workplace agreements.
About 40 positions could be axed in the north west.
