Newcastle Jets player, David Carney, will be kept on until the end of the 2015/16 A-League season, with the club signing him to a two-year contract extension.
The 30-year-old follows Joel Griffiths as the second member of the squad to be re-signed after Phil Stubbins was appointed as head coach last week.
Carney said he was excited to have secured his future in Newcastle for a further two seasons.
“I’ve really enjoyed the vibe since I’ve been in Newcastle and I’m happy to have signed on for a couple more years,” Carney said.
