Tamworth cyclist Mitch Carrington has come home from the Tour of Tahiti with the Green Sprinter’s Jersey.
As part of the Baiocchi Griffin Private Wealth team’s first overseas trip, the 25 year old finished on 38 points, 12 clear of his nearest rival.
Victory was sweet, having finished just one point behind last year’s winner.
“Knowing landmarks and sort of where finishes were going to be was a big help this year.”
The next challenge for the team will see Phil Kelaher, Darren Traille and Glenn Mathiske head to the Gold Coast for the Masters Road National Championships later this month.
