The Australian women’s basketball team has advanced to the quarter finals of the Asia Cup, thanks to a nine point win over Japan.
The Japanese side was on a 17-game winning streak against Asian opponents, but the Opals took charge early.
The Hunter’s Katie Rae Ebzery had another big game, shooting three from three from beyond the arc.

The Opals will now face North Korea for the chance to advance to the semi finals… and a guaranteed place at the World Cup.
