The Sunshine Coast Lightning has claimed the inaugural Super Netball title, thanks to a big grand final win over the Giants.
The Lightning boasts the world’s best shooter in Caitlin Bassett, and the Hunter’s Sam Poolman had the tough assignment of shutting her down.
The Sydney-based Giants took a slim lead into quarter time, but from there the Sunshine Coast was too powerful.
Bassett eventually made 49 of 51 shots, as her team won by 15.
