The president of the Comancheros motorcycle gang was arrested at Newcastle Airport, when his privately chartered aircraft touched down for a refuelling stop yesterday.
Police say the 30-year-old was on a flight from Melbourne to Noumea via Newcastle, when he was stopped and searched, with officers allegedly finding more than $60,000 in undeclared cash in his baggage.
He was charged with two offences, including dealing with suspected proceeds of crime.
The man will face court today.
