Lions and boats aren’t usually associated with each other – unless you’re talking about Chinese culture.
These traditional lions performing alongside a dragon-boat ahead of next month’s Chinese Festival Gala and Dragon Boat Regatta.
The event at the Southport Broadwater Parklands is a celebration of all things Chinese.
“We’ll see a lot of dragon dance, lion dance, folk dance music instruments and food stalls, tasting all the exotic foods.”
More than 20 teams from across Australia will compete in the boat race.
