FLORISTS PREPARE HUNDREDS OF BLOOMS AHEAD OF MOTHER’S DAY

The phone has been ringing off the hook for north-west florists, who are busily preparing ahead of Mother’s Day.

From the traditional gerbras and lillies, to more modern novelties, pre-orders are piling up.

Tamworth florist, Mick Sweeney, says it’s not just locals snatching up pretty blooms for the queens in their lives.

“People are sending flowers to their mums from everywhere – overseas, Australia and locally as well.”

For those who may need a gentle reminder… Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 9.
