It was a well earned spectacular day for the Hunter after days of grey skies and rain.
Now a small but intense system is going to whip up strong winds and drive in heavy showers and rain periods along the coast.
Seas and swell will also increase quickly.
It will be mostly fine across the rest of the region but the showers and southerly winds will push north making for a showery weekend along the entire coast.
Inland will be fine enjoying what rain they received over the last couple of days.
