STATE INQUIRY INTO PUPPY FACTORIES ATTRACTS BIG INTEREST

An inquiry into animal breeding practices in New South Wales has attracted more than 350 submissions and 2000 items of correspondence.
The state parliament’s Committee on Companion Animal Breeding Practices, headed by Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall, is now preparing to host three hearings.
Two will be held in Sydney, while the other is scheduled for July 14 in Armidale.
The committee is investigating the possible introduction of a breeder’s licensing system and a limit being placed on the number of dogs they can keep.
