RFS MEDALS AWARDED TO TAMWORTH FIRE FIGHTERS

A group of Tamworth Rural Fire Service volunteers has been honoured today by the State Commissioner, among them, Graeme Whitten who received a National Medal for his efforts over 40 years.
“It’s quite an honour and a privilege. We don’t join these organisations to get these sort of awards, but it is nice to be recognised.”
Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons praised the selflessness of the region’s fire fighters.
“It’s a testament to the extraordinary commitment of our volunteers, without which we’d be very much the poorer for across New South Wales.”
