Police are investigationg a violent home invasion in inner city Newcastle.
Around 7am a gang of five people broke into a unit off Tyrell Street and allegedly assualted the occupants.
Two people have been taken to hospital with a range of injuries
Police are hunting the offenders who are thought to have used a stolen car and weapons during the incident.
