ROADS TO RECOVERY FUNDS

Eight councils across the New England electorate will receive their share of the federal government’s Roads to Recovery program this month.
In the latest round, $135 million was up for grabs and the New England region was allocated more than $3.2 million.
Local councils rely heavily on the funding to construct and repair roads, which also creates jobs.
Tamworth Regional Council will receive more than $700,000, the Liverpool Plains $550,000 and Gunnedah Shire $450,000.
