CURRUMBIN TREES GET THE CHOP

Two trees in Currumbin at the centre of an impassioned protest in July, have been cut down.

Council was forced to lop the two Camphor Laurels at Currumbin Creek, after they were illegally poisoned last month.

Originally, the trees were to be chopped to make way for a pedestrian underpass.

A tree specialist later confirmed they’d been injected with poison and were dying.
