North west cattle producers feared for their industry after Indonesia carried out the death sentence on Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.
In a bid to ease concerns, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce met with Indonesian officials at Rockhampton’s Beef Week.
“If I lose that market, which is about 77 per cent of my live cattle trade, I tell you, I’ll go to the Tamworth Saleyards and the price will fall over.”
He says he’s been assured it’s business as usual.
