NAMBUCCA VALLEY DAM CONSTRUCTION ON HOLD

The call for tenders for the construction of a dam in the Nambucca Valley are on hold because of a lack of committment from the state government.

The Nambucca Shire Council wants to build the 5000 megalitre dam near Bowraville but needs a guarantee from the state government that it will contribute $16-million for the project.

The federal government has pledged $10-million towards the $50-million dam but the council says it won’t proceed without state government money being pledged.
