Hockey fans in the Hunter received a rare treat today, with the Kookaburras’ Simon Orchard playing for his home club Maitland, against a Wests line-up that included Sandeep Singh.
The former Indian captain is considered one of the world’s best penalty corner takers, and today he showed why.
The pair will conduct a coaching clinic at the Newcastle International Hockey Centre tomorrow morning, but today it was Orchard’s side with bragging rights, 9-6.
