To map out how the country will source energy in years to come an Energy White Paper has been released by the federal government.
It’s been put together in a bid to achieve cheaper prices and to see where the industry can grow.
“That’s what I hear when I’m in Rusden Street, when I’m in Connadilly Street, when I’m in Peel Street, people want cheap power and we’ve got to make sure that we drive for an agenda so that people have more money in their wallet after they pay their power bill.”
The document has a strong focus on gas supply.
“So that we can drive the industry of Tamworth and Armidale forward, that secondary form of manufacturing industry, uh processing which you see in the malting facilities, uh which you see in Taminda, they need to have access to gas.”
