Police are urging Port Macquarie residents heading north on the Pacific Highway this Easter long weekend, to avoid Hastings River Drive.
The call comes after motorists were left in heavy traffic for up to an hour over the Christmas and Australia Day periods.
Instead, motorists are being encouraged to take the Oxley Highway turn off.
