Tamworth hospital held a careers forum for its Junior Medical Officers today to guide them in their decision on what to specialise in.
It’s not an easy choice – with a variety of fields to consider, from paediatrics to surgery.
“I’m thinking about some of the critical care ones and that’s emergency medicine, or ICU and anaesthetics.”
The day, also aimed at encouraging doctors to stay in regional areas.
“I’m certainly very interested in not being back in a major metropolitan area so I’m definitely targeting staying in the country.”
